about

A collaboration between myself and Lunchbox Rachel!

In short, this duet is a love song about a different kind of love. Where many love songs are one-sided, this song normalizes love shown through consent and making time when necessary. Married or not, not every relationship has to look like the movies. Not every relationship needs to demand sex; sometimes, it's the simple act of being in the same room that shows how much both partners care about each other. The lyrics are fairly straightforward, but this type of relationship is not talked (or in this case, sung) about enough.

lyrics

Hey Veronica
Wanna head out to the movies
Tonight? I'll pay for your ticket
If you're busy, I understand
It was my fault to invite
You so last-minute

Is it fine if we let it go
I knew you'd say no

'Cause sometimes love is being
Quiet at the dinner table
Shortly after working nine to five
Doesn't have to be shown kissin'
Lyin' on the couch, oh
While Sinatra plays throughout the night
It's findin' time for each other in our crazy lives

It's been a long day
Why don't we hit the lights
Set the alarm for five in the mornin'
No time to light the candles
And wear our best to bed
How about tomorrow night instead

Is it fine if we let it go
You knew I'd say no

'Cause sometimes love is being
Quiet at the dinner table
Shortly after working nine to five
Doesn't have to be shown kissin'
Lyin' on the couch, oh
While Sinatra plays throughout the night
It's findin' time for each other in our crazy lives
